When it comes to detachment, the sooner the better. It is common that one becomes attached to people, places and things that we constantly think or see. Our attachment holds us back and we lose the opportunity of being the best that we can.
Instead of being afraid of losing someone or something, appreciate it all while you can, embrace it to the fullest. In order to do so, you need to face reality, and that is that everything is perishable.
Knowing this will help you to move on when you are ready and it will help you to appreciate the things that you still have. Being detached will eventually make you appreciate that you got the opportunity to meet that special person and got to see that inspiring place, instead of being stuck in the past and forgetting to cherish that person, place or thing by helping yourself.
